Thomas Enzinger
Direction

Thomas Enzinger is a considered specialist for „light entertainment“ (operetta, musicals and plays). He works in the entire German-speaking area and is founder and director of one of the most successful operetta festivals in Germany (Schönbeck – near Magdeburg).
Thomas Enzinger (43) was born in Vienna. After leaving High School he completed his drama training with Dorothea Neff and Lola Braxton. Engagements followed at the Josefstadt Theatre, Kabarett Simpl, the Municipal theatre in Linz as well as roles in TV films and series. At the same time he started out as stage director in the comedy “To be or not to be” with Silvio Francesco as well as in “Orpheus in the Underworld”. Since that time there is hardly a well-known operetta which he has not staged once or several times.
Apart from acting in TV he has been working since 1995 solely as stage director in Vienna, Berlin, Dresden, Baden, Stockerau, Winterthur, Stralsund, Bernd etc. In 1996 he founded the Schönbeck Summer Festival, which, with a 1500% audience increase in the past 10 years and a 100% ‘full house’, he has made to one of the most successful festivals in Germany. Thomas Enzinger writes texts for theatre and cabaret and is stage director in many TV productions, mainly in comedy and sitcoms.
His most recent production in the winter of 2006 were “Die Zirkusprinzessin” in the ‘Operetten Metropole Baden’, and in the fall of 2005 “The King and I” in Stralsund/Greifswald. In the summer of 2005 he directed “Der Graf von Luxemburg” at his own festival, and in the spring of 2005 he directed “The Racino Dinner Show” in Magna Racino.
He has won several prizes for his work.
