A great moment of opera music

amusingly presented , lightened by anecdotes

A first-rate opera concert for opera connoisseurs and those who would like to be.
The works of world famous composers are musically performed by Thomas Sigwald, tenor of the Volksoper Vienna, and Frauke Schäfer, soprano of the Opera Frankfurt.
Both soloists have already appeared on major stages around the world like in New York, Washington, Sydney, Barcelona, Seoul, Tokyo, at the Festival Bregenz , in Salzburg and lots of other places.
The musical accompaniment is in the capable hands of the pianist Christian Koch, known for his appearance at the Festival Salzburg and Wiener Festwochen. The team is completed by the young solo violinist Caroline Loeffler, Volksoper Vienna, who has already won a number of highly-remunerated competitions. As a soloist she appeared in Europe, Asia and America, where she played almost all major violin concertos.
The programme includes works by Verdi, von Weber, Bizet, Puccini, Mozart, Gounod, etc., accompanied by instrumental works such as the 2nd Movement of the Mozart Violin Concerto in G major.
Thomas Sigwald presents the concert by telling anecdotes and explaining the background to the plot and history of each opera. In addition the audience is offered interesting facts about the opera workshop and glimpses behind the stage – just an amusing opera guide.
