Born in Vienna into a family of musicians, Thomas Markus grew up in Upper Austria. His father, who was a concert pianist and Professor at the Bruckner Conservatory of the City of Linz, furthered his son's education by enabling him to receive piano lessons in the Prisnitz' Class at the age of 6, and singing training in the Bachel-Choir in Linz. When he was nine, he joined the Vienna Boy's Choir.

He studied singing in the classes of Prof. Schuchto-Vini and Mag. Preier-Raunacher at the University for Music and Performing Arts of Vienna. His further 'vocal companions' were Marc Tasslit, Karl Oblassera and Kammersänger Kainz - at the present Univ. Prof. Claudia Visca. At the same time, he received competitive dancing training in Standard, Latinamerican, Rock 'n Roll and Acrobatic. He has taught dancing since 1997.

In the course of his artistic career, Thomas Markus has worked at Austrian Radio and TV, at the Salzburg and Mörbisch Festivals, as well as the Klangbogen Festival in Vienna and the operetta metropolis Baden. Thomas Markus toured not only in Japan and Australia, but also in the USA, Germany and Holland. He sang at festivals in Pesaro, Hamburg, Utrecht, Barcelona, Bucharest, Posen and Budapest.
